Job Description

Trillium Academy is seeking a full- or part-time Teaching Assistant who is interested in working with highly capable, asynchronous learners between 4th-12th grade. The Assistant will work collaboratively with teachers and students to support a variety of student-centered learning opportunities .

This is a ten-month position that follows the academic calendar, reporting to the Head of School.

Responsibilities:

• Support classroom teacher with planning and preparing curriculum, materials, and resources as needed
• Engage and support students in a creative, flexible, open way
• Contribute to a classroom culture of inclusion and belonging
• Help classroom teachers identify individual student needs
• Assist with coordination and monitoring of teaching activities, including field trips and on-site experiences

• Wants to contribute to a strength-based learning atmosphere that allows students to spend more time in and out of school on their passions, and less time on busywork and cumbersome homework

Minimum Requirements:

• HS Diploma or GED
• Experience working with children and/or adolescents
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Successfully complete a nationwide background check
• Currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer. No sponsorship is available for this position.
