Are you someone in recovery who wants to help others? Community and Family Resources is seeking a full-time Peer Recovery Coach to serve as an advocate for our clients, families and their wellness, recovery, and services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Assists clients and family members in understanding and accessing services.
- Provides peer support and education to clients.
- Attends conferences and team meetings as needed.
- Develops and facilitates support groups and classes as directed.
- Maintains documentation of contacts, activities, and units utilized for billing purposes.
- Assists clients in articulating personal recovery and wellness goals by creating their own Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP).
- Assists consumers in building social skills.
- Assists with client education and/or employment goals and/or supported employment.
Schedule: - Type: Full-time
- Hours: 40 hours each week. Monday-Friday, with flexibility for evenings and weekends depending on client needs.
Education and Experience Qualifications: - High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.
- Lived experience with substance use and/or gambling disorder issues is required.
- Must be a graduate of Recovery Coach Academy Training approved by Iowa's managed behavioral health care provider OR have ability to complete training upon hire.
- A valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance is required.
