Job Description

Required Education:

• High School Diploma

  Preferred Education:

• Undergraduate studies in business administration, insurance or other related area

  Required Experience:

• One year of experience in a paralegal capacity

  Required Designations:

• Certification in paralegal studies or equivalent experience

  Required Knowledge:

• Working knowledge of paralegal concepts, procedures and practices

• Knowledge of operations, practices and procedures of general counsel or civil litigation

• Knowledge of the filing requirements of relevant courts and administrative agencies

• Must have a demonstrated knowledge in legal research and deposition motion practices as well as appellate procedures

  Required Skills/Competencies:

• Analytical, research and organizational skills

• Ability to set work priorities that conform with established standards

• Ability able to give presentations in both formal and informal settings

• Strong verbal and written skills for contact with associates, attorneys, clients and customers

• Ability to operate a personal computer and related legal and business software and data bases

  Paralegal Responsibilities:

• Performs a variety of legal related tasks under the direct supervision of an attorney.

• Provides professional assistance and support to the legal staff in the development, research, management and resolution of legal issues involving their business unit.

• Prepares and drafts routine legal documents, agreements and pleadings related to litigation and non-litigation matters.
