Job Description Summary The GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy, Nuclear Senior Quality Staff Manager - Services Components Operation (SCO), is responsible for effectively leading, developing, and managing the SCO Quality Team and ensuring quality program compliance to meet regulatory and customer requirements for supply of components and services to the nuclear energy utility market.
The Senior Quality Staff Manager - SCO has overall responsibility to develop, maintain and execute quality programs designed to ensure SCO products and processes meet all required standards and customer quality expectations. In this position, you will lead a team responsible for implementation of quality activities to achieve compliance, qualify special processes, and execute process improvements.
Job Description This role will be onsite at the GE Hitachi Nuclear Headquarters in Wilmington, NC to support on-site activities as needed. Roles and Responsibilities - Develop, implement, and communicate quality strategy for the SCO team, including:
- SCO Quality Assurance and Quality Control
- SCO Quality Record and Product Certification
- Quality assurance and quality control activities, including planning and execution of elements to meet all contractual quality obligations.
- Lead team in implementing processes to ensure quality control to assure released products and services reliably meet all requirements (quality and regulatory).
- Provide oversight for product/process qualifications, including development, review, and approval of quality documents, plans and procedures.
- Represent SCO in customer, regulatory, and internal audits/assessments.
- Ensure ongoing evolution of training, personnel qualification, self-assessments, and observation programs to maximize workforce capability.
- Promote a working environment that encourages employee involvement to achieve excellence in compliance, product quality and efficient operations.
- Promote team morale, diversity, involvement/ownership, and skills development.
- Champion positive employee relations by fostering employee engagement and ensuring that business goals are effectively communicated to employees.
- Work seamlessly with operations, engineering, business teams, and support functions to meet operational and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and drive the Nuclear Safety Culture, continuous improvement, and of lean manufacturing throughout the organization.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators for reporting and recommended actions.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college and 5 years of professional experience in a quality, technical, manufacturing, operations, or services roles
- OR Associate's degree in a technical field and 8 years of professional experience in a quality, technical, manufacturing, operations, or services roles
- OR a High School Diploma/GED and 10 years of professional experience in a quality, technical, manufacturing, operations, or services roles
- Minimum 2 years of commercial nuclear industry or military nuclear experience with at least two of the following:
- Nuclear quality management systems
- American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) - NQA-1 and BPVC requirements
- Quality Assurance or Quality Control positions
- Manufacturing or Operations processes
- Minimum 1 year supervisory or managerial experience
Eligibility Requirements - Relocation to or already located in Wilmington, NC to support on-site activities as needed.
- This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to U.S. export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of U.S. person status prior to employment.
Desired Characteristics - Domain expertise on quality system requirements, preferably in the nuclear industry (10CFR50 Appendix B; 10CFR Part 21, ASME NQA-1, and ASME BPVC).
- Strong mechanical aptitude with understanding of mechanical and production processes.
- Experience interacting with leadership and customer and/or regulatory organizations.
- Experience in manufacturing, production and/or engineering processes and quality.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to influence stakeholders and build trust with customers, managers, and team members.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and effectively interact with all levels of management to resolve issues that cross organizational boundaries.
- Ability to perform data and statistical analysis.
- Proficiency and experience with manufacturing and quality software applications and office software applications.
- Lean manufacturing qualification with experience identifying opportunities for and designing changes to processes.
The base pay range for this position is $103,000 to $140,000k. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on Friday September 20th
The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
