Eliot's Homeless Services Division is seeking a Recovery Coach to join their dedicated team of professionals. The ideal candidate will be in or have receivedmental health and/or substance use services in the past.CCA's Engagement Center Recovery Coach will provide peer based support for patients with complex behavioral health and social needs

Responsibilities: - Facilitate member access to recovery-oriented substance use disorder treatment, resources, and community recovery groups within the center itself and in the community.
- Collaborate with other internal/external staff to ensure that the client's perspective is always included within the care planning process.
- Provide generalized and specialized training and consultation to staff related to substance use disorder treatment and best practices for engagement.
- Provide guidance and support to Members in all phases of the recovery process (pre-contemplation, contemplation, active engagement) in a person centered/ strength-based fashion.
- Promote hope and empowerment through meetings and support with Members through targeted disclosure of your recovery story/experiences. Collaborate with the staff to ensure that the client's perspective is always included, that preferences are recognized and that client choices are maximized.
- Participate and transport members to relevant service appointments (detox, SMART Recovery, AA, sober homes, MAT consults/groups)
- Participate in recovery oriented community events as assigned (e.g. municipality based opioid prevention event)
- Assist Members in being fully integrated in their communities by supporting them in the use of community resources, encouraging them in establishing memberships within their communities, and reducing stigma within the community through education. Assist members who have experienced social stigmatization with their sense of acceptance and affiliation.
Qualifications: - High school diploma/GED and at least one year of paid or volunteer experience working with adults with mental illness and/or substance abuse.
- May substitute six months of experience with a college degree in the human services field.
- Must be receiving mental health and/or substance use services or received services in the past and have self-knowledge to manage their illness with an established recovery process.
- Must have a strong commitment to substance use recovery. Must have skills to establish supportive relationships with persons with mental illnesses/substance use and respect for their preferences for treatment.
- Ability to provide flexible services that are community based and focused on team work.
- Must enroll and complete Recovery Coach Certification Program.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with clients, staff, co-workers and supervisor. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and cultural groups.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule contingent upon Center's needs.
