The Equus Global Mobility Platform encompasses the Tax and Compliance Engines to support all types of mobility, including remote work, business travel, one-way relocation, commuters, project work and the traditional long- and short-term assignments. The Tax Engine powers cost estimates and compensation calculations; and the Compliance Engine assesses income tax and social security obligations using double tax treaties and social security agreements.
As a Manager within our Tax Products team, you will drive the accuracy, efficiency, and innovation of our Tax and Compliance Engines. You will deliver updates to 200+ supported tax authorities within an Agile framework and provide expert guidance on complex tax matters.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Engine Excellence: Lead continuous enhancement and maintenance of the Tax and Compliance Engine for accurate tax calculations and compliance evaluations.
- Solution Design through Tax Expertise: Utilize in-depth tax knowledge to design and innovate solutions that address the complexities of global mobility. Translate tax insights into practical, value-adding features for the Tax and Compliance Engine, aligning with the latest industry practices and global mobility trends.
- Collaborative Solution Design: Work closely with tax researchers, analysts, developers, and stakeholders to gather requirements, devise tailored solutions, and lead the delivery of tax features.
- Cost Communication: Estimate and communicate costs associated with tax-related tasks to the Product Owner, establishing realistic delivery timelines.
- Documentation and Support: Document, demonstrate, and provide support for tax features to internal and external users of the Tax Engine, ensuring smooth adoption and usage.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor, measure, and enhance tax-related processes and team performance, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous software testing to identify and rectify bugs, ensuring reliability and accuracy of tax calculation across Excel and our software products.
- Innovation: Participate in Innovation Day sessions, presenting innovative solutions that contribute to company-wide growth and advancement.
QUALIFICATIONS
- An advanced degree in Taxation or a related field.
- Additional certifications relevant to expatriate tax management, international tax, or global mobility tax issues are advantageous.
REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
- Experience: Proven global expatriate tax experience with 8+ years in Big 4 or Mid-Tier accounting firm. including 2+ years managerial experience.
- Tax Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in U.S. employment taxes and expatriate taxation including tax planning and compliance for employees inbounding to/outbound from the U.S. Deep understanding of U.S. Federal and State tax regulations, double tax treaties, and social security agreements relevant to global mobility.
- Tax Strategy and Planning: Proven ability to develop and implement strategic tax planning for global mobility scenarios, ensuring compliance and optimization of tax obligations for individuals and the organization.
- MS Excel Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, adept at utilizing formulas for problem-solving and data analysis.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical abilities to interpret complex tax-related data and propose innovative solutions.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in tax calculations.
- Communication and Collaboration: Effective communication skills to convey complex tax concepts and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Database Proficiency: Understanding of database concepts, preferably experience in MS Access or SQL.
- Continuous Learning Mindset: Passion for staying up to date with the latest trends in expatriate tax and technology.
DESIRED
- Agile Methodology: Prior experience in Agile project management and familiarity with Agile rituals.
- Process Improvement: Experience in streamlining processes and Lean Six Sigma certification would be advantageous.

- Salary base range $115, 000 - 125, 000K Annual (based upon skills, experience, and location - plus benefits and variable performance bonus).
