Job Title: Remote Sign Language Interpreter
Location: Georgia Schools (Remote)

At VocoVision, we are committed to providing inclusive and effective communication support to students across Georgia. We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Remote Sign Language Interpreter to join our team for the 2024-2025 School Year. In this role, you will facilitate clear and accurate communication for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, enhancing their educational experience through virtual platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and translate spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa during virtual classroom sessions
- Support students by providing clear and accurate interpretation of classroom instruction, discussions, and other educational activities
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to ensure effective communication and support for students' learning needs
- Adapt interpreting techniques to meet the specific needs and preferences of individual students
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
- Stay updated with best practices and advancements in sign language interpreting and virtual communication tools
- Document and report any issues or concerns related to interpreting services

Qualifications:
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (e.g., RID certification) or equivalent qualification
- Proven experience in educational interpreting, preferably in a remote setting
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and understanding of deaf culture
- Experience working with students and educators in an academic environment
- Familiarity with virtual communication platforms and technology
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting
- Ability to adapt to the unique needs of each student and provide a supportive learning environment
