Job Description
Forklift Mechanic
This individual will be responsible for, but not limited to the maintaining of the operation of industrial equipment throughout the Distribution Center. They will be responsible for understanding the inner workings of all machinery as required of a Forklift Mechanic.
Must have hands on experience with:
- Electric lifts (Swing Reach Trucks, Order Pickers, Reach Trucks, Pallet Jacks) Preferably Raymond equipment
- Propane and electric sit-down forklifts
- Electric golf carts
- High reach equipment over 30 feet
- 48, 36, and 24-volt batteries for electric equipment
- Electric lifts PLC controls
- Diagnosis of equipment error codes
- hydraulics
- Electric drive motors
- Electric pump motors and pumps
- Hydraulic lift cylinders
- Load and drive wheels
- Lower end drive units
- Mast chains, cables and bearings
- All shop equipment (presses, welders, compressors, drill presses, band saws)
- Equipment checklists
- All safety rules and regulations pertaining to high reach equipment and all rolling stock. Equipment safety, Operator safety and Maintenance safety
ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
Must be CAL OSHA certified on a Reach and/or Order Picker/Walker Rider equipment, etc.
- Ability to keep the department OSHA Compliant
- Extensive knowledge of all company policies and procedures with an emphasis on safety
- Communicate with upper management on a daily basis
- Ability to take directives from Maintenance Manager
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Must be detail oriented,
- Perform housekeeping duties when needed,
- Must be able to take constructive criticism
- Ability to work in a professional and courteous manner at all times,
- Must be able to perform any other special projects and general requests made by direct supervisor as needed
- Ability to contribute hands on
- Work with minimal supervision
Pay Range is $25 - $30
