Job Description

The College of Business at Stony Brook University is seeking applicants for a tenure-track faculty position (Assistant Professor) in Accounting. This is a full-time appointment in the College's Accounting area. The position starts on September 1, 2025.  Salary, teaching load, and research support are competitive and commensurate with other major research institutions with no doctoral program. Both new Ph.D. graduates and experienced candidates are encouraged to apply. Hiring for this position is subject to final budgetary approval by the university.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates are required to hold a Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in Accounting or be on track to complete their Ph.D. for the position. Candidates must have a promising research agenda. All areas of research will be considered. Candidates must demonstrate a potential for excellent teaching. Candidates should show potential to teach courses related to information security and data analytics in accounting through their professional/teaching experience and/or teaching philosophy statement.

Preferred Qualifications:
Research in archival auditing is preferred.
